Description

Statewide funding and coordination for addressing the public health effects of climate change is unavailable in Ohio. Recognizing the need for coordination, the Ohio Public Health Association convened a group of public health practitioners, academicians, and other interested subject matter experts in 2016. The coalition’s purpose is to leverage knowledge and resources across the state, to create a white paper and tool kit for local health departments to utilize, and to encourage public health action. This presentation highlights the journey toward engaging public health in Ohio to begin taking action on climate resilience efforts within their communities.
